These are a few of my favorite things...

<Softpaws - great alternative to declawing

<Litter welcome mat - easy to clean, catches 98%.

<Cat dancer - best cat toy in the world - and best of all it only costs a couple bucks.

<Cat trees on ebay - I just bought a huge one for $15 (of course shipping was $78). Go to Ebay and search for Cat Tree or Cat Condo or Cat Furniture

<Wire shelving for cages - flexible configuration, stores flat. Cleans up easily. Use cable ties to link together. Available at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I like to get the 4 foot lont 18 inch pieces. You can have them cut in the store for more custom cage sizes. Coming Soon: I'm writing a design guide for using these. Until then you can get some ideas from www.cavycages.com.

<Long handled LITTER SCOOP - keeps your face out of the box when scooping, requires less shaking, doesn't break up the clumps as much.

<Roomba robotic vaccuum - really works! (coming soon - Scooba the robotic floor mop - I can't wait)

<Catty Corner Litter Box. The champagne color seems to clean easier for some reason. You can use this as a covered litter box or as two litter boxes. The sides are high enough to keep the litter in the box, even with diggers. Great for large cats. Entrance lip is low enough for smaller kittens to get into it. Don't use the sifter or door that comes with it. Put a Litter Welcome Mat (see above) at the entrance, scoop it with the long handled scoop and you'll have a great litter system.

<Cat Fence-In. I have a couple of cats that absolutely cannot be inside. They spray, fight, yowl, and we were all miserable. This fence has allowed me to keep them outside but contained and we're all very very happy. If you are going to install one, please feel free to email me for advice (info@animalfocusnetwork.org). I've learned a lot about the system and how to deal with trees since one of my cats is an escape artist.
